Fertility Journey Support

Fertility Journey Support

I have felt inclined to write about my fertility journey for a while. However, I felt as though it was only important to me. This week, by the sole planning of Allah, I sat with three different women who are trying to conceive. Two of them had tears in their eyes and a lump in their throat as they began to speak on this topic, the emotion they were feeling was from their second heart. The womb. I am no expert on this topic. However, I have the ability to share what I have learnt on my journey, with the hope that it can feel like a warm hug to others. I felt lonely at the beginning of my journey, and I would like anyone who is on this journey to know that my sincere duas are with you. I hope you find some support from this page. I am sharing what I feel comfortable.

I am sharing this to support couples on their fertility journey, with the hope that it brings guidance and comfort along the way. May this information help make the path a little smoother and filled with more hope.

Being on a fertility journey is difficult. It is difficult because it is invisible to the people around us and sometimes people ask insensitive questions. Deep down when it comes to our emotions it is very visible to us.

On my journey I was deeply aware of three main things.

  • “Verily! Allah will not change the condition of a people until they change that which is in their hearts.” (Surah ar-Ra'ad:11)
  • Dua made at Thajjud is like an arrow that does not miss its target
  • Allah does not send down a disease without a cure

The Heart

I knew deep down that to create a change on the outside, I had to start with my heart. Just like we clear our surroundings from things that we do not need and we clean our living spaces, our heart also needs the time and love to be cleaned. For this, I focused on Dhikr, Istaghfar, and actively working with a therapist to teach me the skills that I needed to release what no longer served me. When you release what no longer serves you, there is space for new things to be received. The ripple effect moves into the surroundings.

I was privileged to work with LaYinka Sanni.

The Womb

The Sacred Womb. The Rahm. It is the only organ in both a male and a female that Allah has named after Himself. Ar-Rahman. In Chinese medicine, the womb is known as the second heart. It is known for storing emotions and energy. The monthly period allows a female to beautifully release and reset every month. Sometimes experiences that we have had in life, or how our first period was received, can show up in our monthly cycles and fertility journey. Sometimes we are carrying generational trauma. It is really important to work with a womb practitioner to help release what no longer serves us. I was privileged to learn from Shakirah, the founder of Barakah’s Womb.

I was taught to listen, love and make space for my womb through dhikr, steaming and meditation. For the womb is a beautiful creation of the Most High.

A special dua.

I found this dua to be very grounding. It's so beautiful that Allah chose to mention a story about fertility in His Glorious Quran. It is said that there are certain duas that Allah loves. Imagine it like a key to a certain door. This dua worked for Prophet Zakariya. It was so loved by Allah that it is mentioned in the Quran.

I was watching a video recently where a Shaykh mentioned that the mic to Allah is not in the sky; it is close to the floor during sujood.

Speak to Allah and let your heart and womb release.

Homeopathy

Coming from a very clinical background, I was very sceptical of homeopathy at first. I arrived to my homeopath with painful periods. I was taking two paracetamol and two ibuprofen every four hours. I needed a hot water bottle and suffered from really bad premenstrual symptoms and migraines. After my body was detoxed and brought back into balance, I no longer needed the painkillers. My energy levels shot up, and headaches were gone. It is really important to find a good practitioner who specialises in fertility and takes the time to listen.

I was privilaged to work with Amanda Clifford

As a couple, we also used multivitamins and herbs. I have since found capsules that contain everything in fewer tablets (I do not get a commission for posting this; it is just honest information).

Female Herbs

I recently came across this brand at So7 Wellness clinic and I was amazed that such a perfect combination exists in tablet form. It is organic and is reasonably priced with no bulking agents and chemicals.

This combination is nutrient-dense, antioxidant-rich, and supportive for hormonal balance, all of which are beneficial for fertility.

Male Herbs

This combination is brilliant. However, it is important that you look into dosage and your individual health.

Combining these with a healthy lifestyle, diet, and stress management is key.

I will be writing about environment and mizan therapy in another post.

Most importantly everything happens only by the Will of Allah.
